22nd November 2009 |
|
The final round of the year for the Ulster Drift Championship came this weekend with the two title contenders Alan Mc Cord and Paul Conlan fighting it out with only a point between them entering this round, The day was cold wet and windy but it didn’t stop the both drivers and spectators from turning out to the bishops court circuit to watch the days action. With all the Division 1 drivers automatically qualifying with the battles there qualifying was to see who they where up against, this also was to make sure there was a good sceptical for every one watching. Chris Brady who took last year out of drifting to save.....

Trackskills, Kirkistown,
27th July 2009 |
|
Today saw another of the Trackskills days at Kirkistown. Rain looked set to hamper the day but as we got closer to Kirkistown the weather looked to be drying up and the sun coming. Before long the track was dry and the paddock area full of some fantastic pieces of machinery. With loads of track time and the weather staying really good a fantastic day was had by all. Some of the cars which stood out in the crowd included a stunning white Mitsubishi Evo and a white Subaru Impreza as well as an orange Lotus! Many thanks to the organisers at Trackskills and also the marshals at Kirkistown for another fantastic day......

Even though the clouds were out and the rain threatening the crowds still turned up. By mid morning the car park was filled with the countries finest dubs and more. With the rain on spirits were not dampened and it just lead to more cleaning. Those who came to view were not dissapointed. From old to new everyones tastes were definatley covered. Trade stands gave everyone something to have a look at and with a raffle at the end of the day the crowds stayed incase they won........

SWRC Drift Skills, Nutts Corner, Antrim,
20th June 2009 |
|
The venue for the latest drift action on the calendar today was Nutts Corner, just beside the Oval track. As most of you will be aware this is a practice day for drifters coming up through the ranks. Rather than lose your licence on the public roads or get annihilated by the drivers who have been doing it for years, the SWRC has devised the superb idea of building a practice course to give drivers extra skill and confidence. There is plenty of run off area in case of a spin and only a few cars allowed out at a time so there is loads of space. Big thanks to Wayne and everyone at the SWRC for looking after us as always..........

Ballymena Car Fest, Ballee Playing Fields, Ballymena,
13th June 2009 |
|
The latest car show to take place happened today at Ballee playing fields in Ballymena. To be fair the event was a lot more than a car show with a stunning array of Lorries and tractors adding to the variety of the show. In fact, one photographer commented that the event was similar to those that you would see in England. This is true and also a great compliment to the organisers efforts. Gone are the days were only a select section of cars fans were catered for. Now there is something for everyone young and old. The vintage cars, providing a window into the olden days, were immaculately presented.......
